A Quick Note…
Not much is new since my last blog. – Just more training and rehearsals. I just wanted to get in touch to remind all of you who read this blog to be sure to watch us as we premiere our first high definition newscast at 6pm on Sunday, October 12th. I’ll get back with you soon after that broadcast, but don’t forget to mark October 12th on your calendar! (On second thought, maybe you don’t have to mark it on your calendar because you’d be watching channel 6 news anyway, right???!!!!) I’ll talk to you soon. Mark

Thanks for setting your DVR! We’re really excited, too!
CBS-Paramount Television is currently not producing Judge Judy in HD or 16×9. We’re not sure when (or if) they’ll be available widescreen.
Rumors are swirling that Live with Regis & Kelly will be HD sooner rather than later.
We’re liking the new weather graphics, too. They give you a good idea of what to expect Sunday evening.

Have you guys decided to change any of the Eyewitness News Cuts on the 6News opens? Oh and can someone the people in the control room to stop playing “Track 14″ everyday in the evening news closes? Please! That is not the only cut that can be used for closes, It’s great one of my favorites but it isnt the only track in the Music Package.

We are using some updated cuts from the ABC O&O music package. They have the same stingers, just some different arrangements.
Sorry about “Track 14″ for the show closes. We only have so much room in the Digicart, and we have to have a variety of deadroll lengths, so “Track 14″ was chosen.
So…if I read correctly there’s really no new news set? Any reason why? It’s been pretty much the exact same set for the last 10 years, just modified here and there. It looks a bit dated compared to what the other stations are doing.

You are correct, there is not an entirely new news set.
The reason we chose to simply touch up our existing set is because the conversion to HD cost several million dollars. We had to choose between a new (very costly) set and going entirely high-def this year.
Your set looks better than WTHR, but not as good as WISH.
The Weekend Show looked awesome!
I did watch 6 News HD tonight, and I like your new graphics, and changes to your news set in your studio. I’m saving up money for a least expensive HDTV. When I see the news in HD on my new HDTV, I’m gonna go wow!
One More thing can you guys make the font on the Lower 3rds bigger? The words are skinnier than on the old L3’s, so much space and so such small words.
My ONLY Complaint!!! So if thats all you guys have done a darn good job!
HD is great! New graphics are great also. Todd and Tricia just don’t get it. There are certainly others on the staff who would be better Anchors.
When you first switched to HD I received the HD signal over my Digital antenna and one night I started getting a week signal messages on my TV. I still Receive WTHR and Wish TV via HD with that same antenna but watch WRTV most of the time Through Direct TV. Is there any reason on the broadcast end why I’m not receiving your HD signal anymore? I’m not sure where to start troubleshooting. Any Help would be appreciated.
