Today’s entertaining political quote comes to us from Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi by way of this Indianapolis Star story about Barack Obama potentially making a play to win Indiana:

Hoosier Republicans aren’t taking Indiana for granted. Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi, one of the hosts of the July 1 McCain fundraising event at the Marriott, said he is “cautiously confident” McCain will win Indiana.

But, he said, “I don’t know. The problem is I’ve seen all kinds of young energy (behind the Obama campaign) that I haven’t seen before. It’s too early to tell.”

Translation: “We’d have this thing all sewn up if it wasn’t for those meddling kids!”
