Zoeller Responds To New Pence Ad
Two hours after Democratic Attorney General candidate Linda Pence got her new ad up on YouTube, Republican challenger Greg Zoeller posted his first ad:
From a content standpoint, there’s nothing wrong with it, but Attorney General Steve Carter doesn’t have the most exciting speaking voice. Also, Linda Pence comes across as a complete prosecutorial badass in her spot. Zoeller? Not so much.

At least that’s how it comes across to this partisan.
A prosecutorial badass? I thought that is why we have prosecutors. THe attorney general doesn’t even do what she says, I am concerned she will bring ticket down because of he past lies and now this type of stuff. We are for change, but I think she should not mislead public or it could hurt in long run.
Bushlyz is right & not just on Bush. The ag is not only NOT a superprosecutor, the ag is not a prosecutor at all. Jen, I gotta tell you her ad doesn’t make sense. I mean come on “no loopholes.” Attorneys should refrain from calling little things like statutes and case law as “loopholes.” More pandering. Yes, I worked in the ag office under modisett (the last good candidate we put up). Can he come back from CA? Do you have his number? Ha. Take care.
Go outside and ask the first 10 people you see what they think the Attorney General does.
I’d put money on the table that nine of them have no idea, and the last one made a lucky guess.
Remember back in 2006 when we ran prosecutor’s race in Marion County where we talked about the job as an administrative one?
Remember how we lost that race because Carl Brizzi ran ads about his “experience” in the courtroom and his opponent’s lack thereof?
Most people have no idea that the majority of lawyers in the world never see the inside of a courtroom. People envision lawyers either as slimy ambulance-chasers or badass prosecutors on “Law & Order.”
Pence comes across as a badass prosecutor who’s going to fight to change our laws so child molesters don’t slip through the cracks.
Zoeller’s walking around the Statehouse talking about how much time he’s spent in an administrative job working in Steve Carter’s shadow.
Surely you can see why Pence’s ad is much more effective.
Heck, even Carter was smart enough to find a big issue — unwanted phone solicitation — and make it his own. The no-call list has been the cornerstone of everything he’s done. Does his office do myriad more things? You betcha. Do real people have any clue what those things are? Not a chance.
bushlyz and mich. You made me curious about what the AG really does and what the AG can and should do. You should both do a little reading about what the AG can do. The following is IC 4-6-1-6.

Rights, powers, and duties; consultation and advice to prosecuting attorneys; assisting in criminal prosecutions; representation of state
Sec. 6. All of the rights, powers, and duties conferred by law upon the attorney-general are conferred upon the attorney-general created by this chapter; in addition thereto, the attorney-general shall consult with and advise the several prosecuting attorneys of the state in relation to the duties of their office, and when, in his judgment, the interest of the public requires it, he shall attend the trial of any party accused of an offense, and assist in the prosecution; and shall represent the state in any matter involving the rights or interests of the state, including actions in the name of the state, for which provision is not otherwise made by law.

Thanks fan, I checked that out but it still shows Pence lies. It still says what everyone in the know says, the attorney general can’t prosecute on their own. The powers are the local prosecutor only and it says ag can only assist. It is a play on words for her but the crimes she mentions can only be brought by prosecutors not her. In Lake county the largest newspaper called her a fraud because she represented party who settled in fraud vote case. She cant represent the bad then turn around and say she will prosecute them, well I mean unless she is lying to everyone for her own benefit.
jen - modisett was good but he left for bigger bucks in the private sector. pence made her money off of governemnt for years by bilking obannon administration. she is a behind the scenes hack who femmabullies people.
