The Non-Denial Denial
UPDATE: This isn’t much of an update, but a Republican source who doesn’t want to be named says I’m wrong. I should note that my original post was premised on bipartisan sources. This is the game. This is how it’s played. And this is why we love it.
Yesterday, I threw out the allegation — backed up by several anonymous sources that I will not disclose — that the State currently is making payments to the consortium that runs the Indiana Toll Road because the consortium is not receiving enough revenue from increased tolls.
Not unexpectedly, the Mitchies descended on the blog. Heck, even the guy who officially speaks for the Toll Road consortium felt the need to make a comment.
The curious thing is that they didn’t deny the story. Instead, they attacked me and tried to shore up Daniels with all sorts of talking points I’ve heard a million times. Lame.
So, here’s your opportunity, Mitchies: Tell the world that the State of Indiana is not currently making payments to ITR.

Sure is quiet.
This is getting increasingly old.
I will copy and paste what I just added to your previous post:
Let’s be clear:
The state is making NO payments to ITRCC in regards to “lost toll revenue.”
There is no set minimum that the company has to reach. No payments are being made by the state of Indiana or by ANYONE if ITRCC loses revenue from year to year. Nowhere was that ever stated, and nowhere in the lease is it mentioned.
I don’t know how much clearer it has to be.
Addendum: I am not a “mitchie,” I am simply someone who knows more about the Toll Road lease than most.
Okay, friendly lease-lover, riddle me this: How much has the State paid to ITR and for what?

Are you going to edit your post now?
NWI, then please explain to me what section 12.13, (”Funding and Reimbursement of Lost Revenues Related to The Toll Freeze”) of the amendment to the lease means. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not an attorney, but it at least appears that there is a possibility of payments from the Indiana Finance Authority, (the state of Indiana), for lost revenue during certain periods of the lease.
