I’m on vacation Thursday and Friday, but wanted to bring you this news.

The BMV is about to do what former commissioner Joel Silverman did:  hit the road.

The BMV has launched a mobile license branch, which it’s calling BMV 2 You.   It’s actually a big trailer that will go to communities throughout the state, visiting fairs, libraries and other areas as a new option for doing your BMV transactions.

You’ll be able to renew drivers licenses, i.d. cards, vehicle titles and voter registration.

The cost will be the same, but the new license will be mailed to you, instead of printed for you there.

There’s no word on how long you’ll have to wait in line.  And, like many BMV branches, it won’t have a bathroom.

By the way, RV One is getting parked.  The Gov.’s office says they returned the RV when its lease was up to avoid ethical questions during the ‘08 Campaign.
