Coyote Encounter
This morning as I was going out to get in my truck to go to work, I heard something, looked over, and there was a coyote about 20 yards from me. He could have cared less I was there. I shined him with my camera light and he slowly walked away. I have never had that happen. Usually, I’m hunting and they run up on me. Just thought I’d share this.

I remember all the coyotes at Camp Pendleton California in 1970. They were protected and could not be harmed. The sargents were always warning us to stay away from them, if we got bit we’d get rabies shots. We were scared of them. One night I had guard duty, there must have been 50 or more of them howling in the dark. I would throw one rock and they would stop for about 15 seconds, and then start up again. They sure kept me from falling asleep!
