Oprah’s Pal, Nate Berkus is Coming to Channel 6

Nate gets his own show, coming to RTV 6
My other job (when I am not blogging about entertainment and pop culture) is overseeing Programming at RTV 6.
That means I get to see pitches from sales people representing TV and film studios. These pitches involve programs that represent millions of dollars in investment on the hope viewers, like you, will invest your time to want to watch them on a daily basis.
It’s an amazing and exciting business.
I mean, who doesn’t like watching TV?
This week I was happy to finalize the deal that will bring a brand new show to Channel 6 in the fall.
“The Nate Berkus Show” will premiere on RTV 6 this September.
If you know Oprah, you probably know Nate.
Nate, a designer, has been a regular fixture on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” for the past few years. Like Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray and more recently Dr. Oz, Nate is the latest Oprah protege to earn his own show.
“The Nate Berkus Show” will be produced by Oprah’s Harpo Studios.
Nate will air at 10am on RTV 6 between ”Live with Regis and Kelly” and “The View.”
The reason RTV 6 is a adding Nate is because “The Bonnie Hunt Show,” currently airing at 10am, will go out of production later this year. While Bonnie did very well here in central Indiana, her show never caught on in other parts of the country. That’s too bad.
But with Bonnie going away, I know Nate will be a great addition to the already highly rated RTV 6 morning line-up.

Paul, I’m so sorry to read that The Bonnie Hunt Show will be leaving the air. I enjoy her so much – the laughs and chitchat are so refreshing. It seems like everytime I like a show alot, it is removed from the air. Bummer!
