- She's back...?
- Gangster to good guy?
- Ozzy
“90210″ fans, you’re gonna like this…some of the old cast is coming back in a new incarnation of the original. The most interesting take…bad girl Shannen Doherty may be back as Brenda Walsh according to Variety! The new spin-off series of “90210″ is on the CW’s schedule for the fall. Shannen would be reuniting with Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth who are in place reprising their former characters. Even Joe E. Tata, who played the owner of the Peach Pit in the original “Beverly Hills 90210″ will be back!
Michael Imperioli from “The Sopranos” will be a co-star on ABC’s new drama series “Life on Mars” Thursday nights this fall. He’ll be a cop this time, playing a detective, a character from the 1970s. The time-travel drama is about Sam Tyler, played by Jason O’Mara, a modern-day detective who goes back to 1972 after experiencing a car crash and still functions as a detective. ABC has high hopes for this one as it has been scheduled after “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Talking about reunions, there will be a ESPN Classic team-up over on NBC beginning in September. Dan Patrick will join the crew of NBC’s Football Night in America as highlights Co-Host. He’ll join Keith Olbermann on the show. They helped define ESPN’s SportsCenter from 1992-1997.
Want more? How about adding the Osbournes! Why not? Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne will be back on TV as FOX ordered six one-hour episodes of an untitled variety show hosted by wacked out married couple and their kids, Jack and Kelly. It will be a variety show, filled with musical performances and comedy sketches. It will probably not see air until sometime in 2009 so you have plenty of time to prepare for it.
Mentioned ”Grey’s” earlier, Kevin McKidd, who starred on NBC’s “Journeyman” last season may join ”Grey’s Anatomy,” according to Entertainment Weekly. McKidd would play a doctor who comes to the hospital after serving in Iraq, the magazine says.
In case you can’t get enough of William Shatner on “Boston Legal” or as a commercial pitchman, he’s now going to host a new celebrity interview series called Shatner’s Raw Nerve for A&E’s Bio Channel, premiering August 19 at 10p. He’s going to try ”to find their raw nerve touch points to reveal interesting, surprising and funny facets about their personalities.” Hmmm. Celebrities slated to appear include Jon Voight, Judge Judy, Valerie Bertinelli and Leonard Nimoy among others.
Finally, Courtney Cox Arquette is coming back to primetime! The “Friends” star is signed on to join the cast of “Scrubs” for several episodes. “Scrubs” aired for several seasons on NBC. It’s going to debut on ABC probably in early 2009.
Have a great weekend!
