A low pressure system will develop Saturday and move east towards Indiana. Rain will arrive during the afternoon hours. There will be enough lingering cold air across portions of north central Indiana to allow some sleet to mix in with the rain during the afternoon and evening hours.
However, temperatures will not be cold enough to allow for any accumulations of sleet.
Overnight, a warm front will push north and change all precipitation to rain by midnight.
Sunday also looks messy. We’ll see scattered showers throughout the entire day. If you’re heading to the Colts game, make sure you have your umbrella.
If there’s any moisture left on Monday, we’ll see it in the form of snow flurries.

We’ll see more sunshine on Friday, but a weak clipper system will move through during the afternoon hours bringing us some clouds.
Our next big system will move through over the weekend. The first part of Saturday will be dry. Then a warm front will move across Central Indiana on Saturday evening. Ahead of this warm front, a mix of rain and freezing rain will be possible for a brief period. Significant ice accumulation is not expected at this time.
Then just expect rain through Sunday. By Monday, if there is any moisture left over, we will see a few snow showers.
A big temperature change is just hours away.
High temperatures were able to climb into the 50s on strong south winds today, but a change in wind direction tonight will send temps tumbling!
Despite sunshine, highs tomorrow will only reach the middle to upper 30s.
A weekend storm system will likely bring mainly rain. There may be a period of mixed precipitation Saturday afternoon before changing to all rain. Warmer air will be drawn into the Midwest. Just like last weekend, a soaking rain is possible Saturday night into Sunday.

Your mood and meteorology may be connected.
If sunshine lifts your spirit, then June, July and August are your happiest months. Statistically, those summer months are the sunniest days of the year. It’s easy to have a little “spring” in your step on a sunny and warm summer day.
You are most likely to need a meteorological motivational speech on a cloudy day. Guess what? Schedule the motivational speaker! The cloudiest months of the year are ahead. November, December and January have the least amount of sunshine.
Telling you about this might not have been a bright idea!
A low pressure system is moving through the Ohio Valley and will continue to bring a cold rain across central Indiana today. The precipitation may become mixed with snow in the Lafayette and Kokomo areas later tonight.
High temperatures will range from the upper 30s in the Lafayette and Kokomo areas to the middle 40s over south central Indiana. Precipitation will end by late tonight across central Indiana.
On Tuesday, high pressure will build into the Ohio Valley bringing us dry and partly sunny weather.
By Wednesday, temperatures will warm up to around 50 degrees.
