Meteorologically speaking, this will be a busy first half of the week.

Light snow is possible to begin the week.  It’s not the amount of snow forecast, but the timing of the snow that should be noted. Less than an inch of snow is expected early Monday morning. With the ground cold and the air temperature below freezing, the roads may be coated creating slick conditions.

After a litte break, rain is set to return late Tuesday ahead of a strong low pressure system. This storm will bring rain, possibly even a thunderstorm, snow and very windy conditions to Central Indiana. Rain and an isolated thunderstorm are possible Tuesday night as the storm draws warmer air into the state. However, strong winds on the backside of the storm will gust to nearly 40 mph. Colder air will sweep into the state and change rain to snow on Wednesday.

Significant snow will fall across portions of Nebraska, Kansas, Missourri, Iowa, Northwest & Northcental Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan.
