I hope you all had a great holiday! The upcoming work week will bring a return to colder conditions to Central Indiana.
The most significant chance of precipitation will come on Tuesday when a storm system will impact the region. At this point there is considerable uncertainty regarding the track of the low pressure and the possible types of precipitation, but it seems a good bet that there will be at least a mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow across the area on Tuesday.
After the storm pulls east, much colder air will arrive from the northwest. This will send high temperatures plummeting, and they will only reach the 20s by Wednesday.
We have definitely had some crazy weather over the past two weeks. Central Indiana experienced some wild weather during the December 21-28 time frame. Temperatures were near zero to start out the period, but climbed to record levels near 70 on December 28. High temperatures on December 27 broke records and were around 35 degrees above the normal high for the date.
As we end 2008, we will once again see temperatures below average. Highs on New Year’s Eve will only be in the lower 30s.
Looking ahead to 2009, the Climate Prediction Center is calling for January to be warmer and wetter than average.

I’m going to be in the Christmas in Pendleton parade this Saturday at 1pm. If you live in the area, or just want to come out to the parade, be sure to say hi to me! This is my first time for this parade, but its sure to be a good time. I get to measure ’snow’ and there will be a snowball toss. But, please, don’t throw any snowballs at me!
Hope to see you there!
So, I rarely blog about myself, but Halloween is my favorite holiday. This year I decided to go as a flapper girl and my boyfriend as a gangster. I figured since the economy lately has been compared to the 1930s, we might as well dress the part. We actually celebrated the holiday in St. Louis. It’s a beautiful city with so much to offer. I have a couple of friends who live there. We visited the Arch and went inside to the top of it. The view was spectacular.

Unseasonably warm weather will continue through mid week. Afternoon temperatures will be around 13 degrees above normal. This is thanks to a very strong High Pressure system that extends from the east coast into Indiana. This system will move slowly to the east. Mostly sunny days and clear nights will rule through mid week.
By Thursday, expect some changes. Showers and thunderstorms will move in the viewing area and temperatures will be below normal by Friday.
