Catching our breath
Hey everyone!
We are finally starting to catch our breath after the move! It’s great to hear from so many of you in Iowa and Indiana. Really, thanks for all the nice thoughts.
Daralene - I hope you’re loving the weather in Orlando! It’s always good to hear from former colleagues and find out what they’re up to - Florida is lucky to have you. WRTV also has another WCIA alum - Meteorologist Kevin Gregory who worked there in 88-89. It’s been great trading stories with him about the people and places of Champaign-Urbana.
Todd and I are kicking off the RV tour tomorrow. After meeting the governor and visiting Eli Lilly, we’ll be out to the ballgame. Apparently Todd and my son get to throw out the first pitch at Victory Field.
Come on out and say hi at a tour stop if you can!
We’ll see you soon.
Trish

Hello,
This is Tyler from Riverside again. I hope you have a great tour!
Looking forward to meeting you guys at the City Market 2day!!!
Seen anything fun in Indy?
Trish,
Hope all is well.
Glad to hear that your enjoying Indiana. We were all worried about you!!! We still wish you’d come back, but if your better off, your better off.
Heather.
Thanks, everyone! Day one was BUSY and fun. The Governor was very nice to us, the city market will be a great place to stop on Wednesdays, and Eli Lilly was impressive. The highlight was the first pitch at Victory Field - if I get a chance I’ll add a new blog entry later today! Our behind the scenes team has done an amazing job updating photos as we go, and you can even track our trip!
Thanks for taking time to write!
Trish
We miss you in Des Moines Trisha. I’ve been watching you since your Green Bay days. Seems like everywhere I go, you’re on the TV. Does this mean I’ll be in Indiana soon? I hope not, I want to go back to GB.
Hello from Iowa!
Hello Trisha-I sooo.. hate to see you go. I was on vacation and when I returned I noticed that for several days you were not next to Patrick on Today in Iowa. I started to put two and two together, when adds of Brooke’s return started airing. Shucks!!! I wish you all the luck! I know I’ll miss ya!
Take Care,
Tonya
Trisha, I really enjoyed meeting you outside Fazoli’s this afternoon/evening. Everyone is excited about your new news broadcast coming soon. Welcome to Indy. I’ve been here for about 3 1/2 years and it is a nice place to live. Like Todd, I’m a Baltimore native. Best wishes to both of you. Hope to see you out and about again soon.
Crystal
Trisha,
Best of luck in Indiana. While we will miss you in Des Moines, Indy is a great town, and I’m confident this will turn out to be a terrific career move for you!
Best wishes and go Cubs!!
Thanks Crystal and Lisa!
I am sorry I have not been keeping up with blogging lately - I’ve been so busy with the RV tour almost everything else has gone out the window! Luckily, I’ll have lots of stories to tell once I’m at a computer long enough to get writing.
Todd and I feel very lucky to have met so many friendly faces. I think it’s fair to say we are more than ready to get on with it and start our evening newscasts!
Tomorrow night Ian and I, along with Todd and his wife Valarie, will all be at the Colts game (my first-ever NFL game.) I’m told to expect NOISE and excitement. Indiana is certainly proud of these Superbowl champs - and rightly so. I can’t wait to see what Coach Dungy’s guys will do on the field. I think we’re in for an unforgettable night.
See you all on the air starting Monday - thanks again for the wonderful responses to our tour of Indiana!
Trisha
I’m in the same boat as several of the other Iowa posters….. I am a teacher’s aide, so I had not been watching over the summer. I miss you and Patrick in the morning! Your sunshiney personality really helped me wake up in the morning! Indianapolis is so lucky to get you!!! Best of luck to you and your family in your new home!
Trisha,
Hello from Des Moines, I was out of town for a few weeks and when I came home there was no Trisha…Not sure how I’m going to start my day. PS you won’t find cows there!
Welcome. Always have relied on WRTV for news and weather. The big question is, which side of the Super Bowl were you on last year? Looking forward to your new casts.
Thanks, Iowans, for the kind hellos!
William - I have a feeling I’m being backed into a corner, so here’s what I can tell you:
I am by far a much bigger BASEBALL fan than any other sport, so I don’t get too venomous about football rivalries. Being from the Chicago area, I was glad to see the Bears get another Superbowl chance. But Ian and I were hoping that Indianapolis would someday become our hometown - so it was really a win-win situation! I was excited to see what the Colts victory did for the people of Indy and the whole state. I could definitely FEEL the excitement at the game the other night - it is infectious!
Trish,
I am a HUGE Colts fan and was definatley tuned in the other night…. I was so excited to see them do great. We are doing a fantasy football team this year and my team consists of 7/10 Colts players. Needless to say, I won this week
WHOOT WHOOT!!! Glad you liked it, if you have any great pics, will you post them? Good luck again tonight and we are definatley rooting for you back here in Iowa!!!! How’s Ian, Cal and Clara doing? Everyone adjusting or adjusted to the change?
Good luck tonight!! Break a leg!! Not really, but you know what I mean
Heather.
