Balance: Part Two
First - THANKS to all of you who watched last night and wrote in your own amazing stories. It means a lot to me that you’re willing to share a slice of your life.
Second - for those of you intersted in Beauticontrol after seeing Melissa Burrous’s story, I want to refer you straight to her: www.beautipage.com/mburrous . She can tell you more about her business, or help you arrange a spa night at your home (goodness knows I need one desperately!)
Third: Please watch part two of my Perfect Balance piece tonight at 7pm and send me your tips and ideas!
I need them.
I’m so busy right now I can’t see straight - if anyone needs help with balance this week, it’s yours truly! Between kid duties, a traveling husband, my special reports, radio interviews, the Circle of Lights performance, Thanksgiving, and a million little nagging errands and phone calls, I can’t seem to get a grip!
Tomorrow I have to figure out how to get to the ER to have Clara’s staples removed for her little head (see previous entry!), sneak in a radio interview, entertain my 5-year-old who’ll be home from pre-school, prepare lunch and dinner, and get myself ready for work, all before 2pm. I’m also hoping to make a quick trip home between evening newscasts to read their bedtime stories and tuck them into bed, before re-assembling my hair-do and getting back on the news desk. Not easy - but so worth it.
Smile - and enjoy your day!

Trisha,
I saw your segment on “How to have Balance”. I am a wife, a mom of 4 children, 11, 9, 8 and 5 and a Director with Tupperware. I have been married for 13 years. When we started have children I knew I wanted to be home with them but could not do without the second income. I was thankful I was offered the Tupperware opportunity. It has give me the opportunity to be home with my family, to be a mom but also be able to work and work by business from home. I can remember when I was youner I would thik that I wanted to climb the corporate ladder but after having children that changed my mind. I wanted to be a mom and be part of my children’s life. I am able to do that with my Tupoperware business and I have the chance to help others reach their dreams and to be home with their children and still make a good income.
It is hard for moms these days and I think all moms need to stick together. We all want the best for our children but also want to feel like we are contributing to the family too.

As a single Mom, one of the things that has helped me so much is “Freezer Cooking”, or sometimes known as “Once a Month Cooking”.
I’ll make an extra large pot of several of our favorite dishes and then freeze into individual size meals to pull out at a moments notice and pop in the microwave.
It seems like such a simple thing, but it helps in so many ways, from saving money to saving my sanity!
Marianne- good to hear you’ve found a nice balance! It’s still not easy though, is it? I agree - we moms need to stick together. My friends who have kids at similar ages are a HUGE source of therapy for me - and great back-up support when I get in a child care bind!
Christina - I like your freezer idea. I’m really not a great cook (my husband is WAY better in the kitchen) and I have VERY little time to mess with food preparation, so shortcuts are always handy. I love the crock pot and bagged freezer meals!
Thanks for your comments- take care of yourselves, okay?
