Fun with photos
How exciting is this - I FINALLY figured out how to add photos to the blog. I’ll start with a little post-holiday personal report:
Here’s my kids, Calvin and Clara, cheesing for the camera on Christmas Eve. (note the clip-on tie all off-kilter) Cal wore these clothes for four days straight, because he wanted to look good for Christmas, along with aftershave lotion that he thinks makes him “smell like a man.”
He had it back on today - vest and all.
And this was one of the highlights of our Christmas trip - watching my husband Ian play at the House of Blues in Chicago with his rock band, the Nadas. (www.thenadas.com) It’s the coolest live music club I’ve ever been in, hands down. The band sounded great too! They’ve really become like family to us - and we’re hoping they’ll eventually book some gigs here in Indy! (Credit to Nadas band photographer Mandy Miller for these great shots - I know you read my blogs - you are amazing, girl! Miss you!)
I have to say it’s really fun to see your spouse in the spotlight. Ian’s talent is sickening.
One of my New Year’s resolutions is to be a better blogger. Being technologically challenged, this isn’t easy for me. Last night I wrote all about the Iowa Caucuses, and somehow deleted my entry. But now that I’ve conquered the photo challenge, things are looking up!
Hope you’re all having a nice start go ‘08. I’m looking forward to having my partner in crime back next week so the T & T team can be reunited!
Please write in and say hi - I’d love to know what’s on your mind!
Here’s one late addition: One of Cal’s favorite Christmas presents was a bunch of what he calls “underwear shirts” (I’m trying to convince Ian not to teach him the term “wife-beaters” for obvious reasons.) Yesterday my tough guy showed off his new look - including a temporary tattoo from a gumball machine.

Hey Trish! Great to see you added pics…the kids look adorable! Great story about Cal and his outfit. Where does he come up with this stuff? Too funny. Thanks for using my photos!! Have a great week, mandy
Great to hear from you, Mandy! I’ll never understand how his little mind works, but it’s always entertaining.
I’m going to update this blog entry with a new photo that will really embarass him some day.
Say hello to all the boys in the band - and keep taking those amazing photos!
Trish
Hey Trisha!!!!
Hello from Des Moines!!! Just wanted to wish you an Happy Elvis’ birthday, pretty mama!!!
Thank you, Becky. Thankyouverymuch.
I managed to get the King’s b-day into one of our newscasts tonight.
I am wearing my Elvis ring proudly, and wondering - why is today not a national holiday?
Favorite Elvis tunes anyone? I change my mind all the time, but “Jailhouse Rock” never fails to get me out of my seat, but “Can’t Help Falling in Love” is hard to beat.
trisha,
glad you and your family had a wonderful holiday!!!
not much that happened here at the larson house…went to dallas (swimsuit weather!!!!), saw some fam, came back, went ice skating, worked a little bit, attended this lame roller skating party, oh and i became head champ of dance dance revolution on new years eve.
as for an elvis song, i would say probably ‘all shook up.’ brad and i went on this roller coaster ride at cedar point and that was the last song they played before i had the living daylights scared out of me. and also that was the song they played when market square arena came down.
have a good week!!!
Hi Trisha!
What great pics! Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
As for favorite Elvis songs, like you, mine change. For a slow one, “Can’t Help Falling In Love” is wonderful. Right now my two favorite uptempo ones are Elvis’ version of Chuck Berry’s “Promised Land” and I also love his version of “Runaway”.
Ken - thanks for indulging my Elvis fascination!
Long live the King.
