Shepherd-1, Wallace-0
To be fair, the week isn’t yet over.
I just want to remind my colleague to pick up the pace if he doesn’t want to buy me a cup of coffee.
I have gotten in one workout so far this week (two if I were allowed to count last Saturday!) Todd - none.
I’d have liked to go today, but I was waiting for a very important call from the vet about one of our two family cats. The call came - and it’s not good news, I’m afraid. 9 lives sometimes aren’t quite enough. More on that in a future blog.
Anyway - Todd and I decided we needed to lay out some ground rules:
–We each promise to fit in at least 3 workouts per week, each at least 20 minutes long.
–1 week is defined as Sunday thru Saturday.
–No cheating! We’re on the honor system - sealed by a pinkie swear.
**Whoever fails to complete their 3 workouts in a week owes the other a cup of NICE coffee of their choice.
Todd says he’s going to rally. Knowing how competetive he is, I have no doubt he’d be on the treadmill at 11:40pm Saturday night to avoid the shame of losing a bet.
I wonder if he knows I’m just as stubborn?
Wish me luck!!

Trisha: Please tell Auntie Corky - is Tucker sick?
Ooh, I smell a competition or a future vlog we’ll probably see on YouTube (jk!) LOL!!!
Ahh, yes, the pinkie swear promise. That’s how me and my boyfriend are handling things during the Super Bowl. You see, he’s a BIG Patriots fan. You couldn’t imagine what he was feeling like after we lost. I’m rooting for the Giants. It’s a Manning with blue, just a darker shade of blue.
Best of Luck Trisha!

You can do it maam, and if by chance you dont somehow, well then i will bring you coffee and a pizza from Cloverdale.Thank you for bringing news back the way it should be.
Cowboy
Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! I’m proud to say Todd and I both made it thru week one without messing up our pledge. (Although Todd admits his final workout was at the 11th hour)
To Auntie Corky: It’s not Tucker who’s sick, it’s Ivy. Her kidneys are shot, poor thing. The vet doesn’t think she’s got much more time. It’s hard to believe I got her as a kitten 11 years ago - I’ve known her longer than my husband! I am not looking forward to the inevitible goodbye.
Miss you!
Trish
Trisha-Just checking in to see what’s up in Indiana - wanted to let you know my heart is breaking for Ivy - I had a cat that had a problem with her liver, we all knew what was coming, but it still makes it hard when the inevitable happens. And I’m sure it will be even harder with your little ones - my prayers are with your family.
Lisa
Nice to hear from you, Lisa. We are enjoying all the time we have left with Ivy. The kids sort of understand what’s happening, and are constantly picking her up and playing with her.
I’m also trying to get some good pictures of her before she gets even skinnier - maybe I’ll put one on a future blog. I don’t want to be melodramatic about it or anything, but it seems you understand how much these little critters become part of the fabric of your family.
Thanks for your nice thoughts and prayers!
Trisha:
I’m sorry to hear it’s Ivy. As you know, Tucker and I created an instance relationship. Ivy and I had a little more trouble, but the last time I visited the family in Indianapolis, Ivy and I discovered our “love”. I know all animals whether it be cats, dogs, fish, birds or whatever become a part of the family and when they are not around anymore it leaves a large gap. I hope Ivy still has a few more lives before saying goodbye. And I hope to have at least one more time to visit and show that cat my love! I miss you too.
Love & hugs…..AC xoxo
Trisha,
I’ll let you know who wins this battle at our house!
Strange things have been happening at my house as a result of your “exercise competition.” While I’ve been getting ready for bed, Todd is putting on his exercise gear and heading down to the basement to work out. A couple weeks ago, I was tucking Kennedy into bed when Todd came home. Naturally, I thought he came to see us. HE CAME HOME AT 8 P.M. TO EXERCISE. I laughed to myself because he is really serious about this friendly competition. Todd is the ultimate competitor. So, Trisha, thanks for challenging him to exercise. I’m working on my own challenge with him, too — but I haven’t decided if should I start with the dishes or dusting.
Valarie - His determination not to lose is hilarious!! I’m really glad for the kick in the pants too. It’s so easy to find excuses - but heck if I want to be the one forced to buy him the cup of coffee and be ridiculed on this blog. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience this causes you guys at home!
Good luck with your own challenge - and keep me posted, okay?
Trish
